Police have established a crime scene in Newark's South Ward after gunfire erupted in the neighborhood, leaving a man injured.
The shooting occurred around 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of Clinton Avenue and South 20th Street.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired and discovered the victim suffering from gunshot injuries.
The unidentified man was transported to University Hospital for treatment, but his condition has not been confirmed.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made at this time. Authorities continue to search for suspects.
