Juveniles Arrested for Attempting to Steal $623 Worth of Groceries in Bloomfield

Bloomfield police are investigating a shoplifting incident that occurred at a local supermarket on Thursday, August 29. SupportAccording to a statement from police, two 13-year-old males from Queens, New York, were taken into custody after attempting to steal over $600 worth of groceries from the Stop & Shop located at 8 Franklin Street.

The store’s Loss Prevention Officer reported that the juveniles filled a shopping cart with various items and tried to exit the store without paying.

The total value of the goods was estimated at $623.

The Loss Prevention Officer intervened, stopping the two before they could leave the premises.

Bloomfield police officers arrived on the scene shortly after and arrested both juveniles.

They were transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters for processing.
