Ocean County authorities are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured Saturday night in Manchester.It happened around 10 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of NJ-37, just west of Northampton Boulevard.
Police were dispatched to the scene following reports of a person struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers closed all lanes and found a seriously injured pedestrian lying in the roadway. Emergency medical services treated the victim on the scene before transporting them to a local hospital for further care.
As of 4:30 a.m., Sunday, the victim’s injuries were only described as serious.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains active.
