NJ Woman Killed in Overnight Pedestrian Strike

Authorities in Mercer County are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a Hamilton woman on Friday night.

 

According to Hamilton Police Chief Kenneth R. DeBoskey, the incident occurred at approximately 9:19 p.m. on Nottingham Way near Klockner Road.AdA 56-year-old Hamilton resident driving a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling eastbound on Nottingham Way when she struck a 65-year-old female pedestrian, also from Hamilton, who was walking southbound across the intersection.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

The names of the individuals involved have not been released, pending notification of family members.

First responders, including the Hamilton Township Fire Division, Emergency Medical Services, and the Hamilton Township Road Department, provided assistance at the scene. 

The crash is currently under investigation by Hamilton Township Traffic Unit Officers F. LaVacca and D. Hendricksen.AdAuthorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Hamilton police non-emergency line at (609) 581-4000.
