According to Sergeant Michal Gontarczuk of the Kearny Police Department, the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team has taken control of the incident, with Kearny police officers assisting on the scene.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office is coordinating the response and handling all information related to the situation.
Details regarding what led the individual to barricade himself remain unclear at this time, and it is not known if there are any hostages involved.
