The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a deadly crash that occurred late Tuesday night in downtown Passaic.
The collision took place around 11:35 p.m. near the intersection of Main Avenue and Monroe Street.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found a severely damaged vehicle. One person was pulled from the wreckage and was pronounced dead shortly after that.
Passaic Police detectives secured the area while investigators worked to gather evidence to determine the cause of the crash.
No other serious injuries were reported in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to understand the factors that led to this tragic event.
