Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a violent shooting that left a male victim severely injured in Paterson on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred around 2:47 a.m. near the intersection of Auburn Street and Ellison Street, where multiple rounds of gunfire erupted, alarming the neighborhood.
Police arrived at the scene to find the victim unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders quickly administered CPR before rushing the victim to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Officers secured the area and searched for additional victims, but no other injuries were reported. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
Authorities have not yet provided a motive for the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.
