Residents of Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a refreshing change in weather this early Thursday morning. Temperatures are a cool 78 degrees.
After the heat and storms of the previous day, today's weather brings a welcome respite as temperatures are expected to stay in the upper 70s.
While there are some pockets of heavy rain moving through the area, they are expected to be quick-moving and not as intense as the overnight downpours.
The National Weather Service forecasts a mostly cloudy day with a high near 79 degrees and a northeast wind around 8 mph, which will bring a refreshing breeze to the region.
As the day turns into night, there is a slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 2 a.m. Tonight's low will be around 64 degrees.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the cooler weather and have a pleasant Thursday.
