Police in Newark are searching for suspects involved in a shooting that resulted in property damage in a local neighborhood.
The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. when police were alerted to gunfire through a ShotSpotter alert in the area of Dickerson and Hecker Streets.
Upon arrival, officers discovered several shell casings and an unoccupied vehicle that bullets had struck.
Authorities immediately taped off the area and established a crime scene.
After canvassing the neighborhood, no gunshot victims were located.
The suspect is believed to have fled the scene and remains at large.
Newark police continue their investigation and are actively searching for those responsible for the shooting.
