A single-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning injured several people and caused some disruption along a major highway in Union Township
The crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. near the 2401 US-22 address.
Upon receiving reports of the crash, emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to discover a car that had violently collided with a utility pole.
The impact of the collision necessitated the immediate hospitalization of two individuals, who were transported to University Hospital for treatment.
Details regarding the severity of their injuries have not yet been disclosed.
Following the accident, a portion of the highway was shut down to facilitate the removal of the damaged pole and to clear the wreckage. Authorities have indicated that no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Union Police Department.
