Emergency responders and rescue teams recovered the remains of an unidentified person from the waters of Newark Bay this afternoon.
Preliminary reports indicate that authorities were alerted to a body floating near Port Newark’s Berth 7 at approximately 1:50 p.m.
The body has been transported to an undisclosed location as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovery continues.
No further information has been made available at this time.
