Passaic County authorities are actively searching for a suspect involved in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man in Paterson early this morning.
According to Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, the incident occurred at approximately 2:02 a.m. when officers from the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Market Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard following a ShotSpotter activation.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, a 19-year-old male from Paterson, lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.
The victim was rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather more details about the incident.
Prosecutor Valdes has stated that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
