Females Wanted for Questioning in Push Cart Ice Cream Vendor Robbery

Newark Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two women wanted for questioning in connection with an armed robbery involving a push cart ice cream vendor on July 18.

PuertoPublic Safety Director Fritz Fragé reported that the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Mt. Prospect Avenue. 

The victim, an ice cream vendor, was setting up her cart for business when two Black males approached her from behind, initially asking for ice cream. 

The suspects then pushed her into the cart, with one pulling out a knife and holding it to her throat while the other stole her bag. 

The stolen items included $1,000 in cash, an iPhone, a vendor’s license, identification, and a bank card.

The two women, seen in the vicinity with the suspects after the robbery, are wanted for questioning.
