UPDATE: Authorities Search for Suspect in Fatal Passaic Shooting

Authorities in Passaic County are currently searching for a suspect involved in the fatal shooting of a man in Passaic early Sunday morning.

Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes reported that at approximately 3:25 a.m., Passaic Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 224/226 6th Street in Passaic following a report of shots fired. 

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, a 33-year-old male from Passaic, with a gunshot wound to his chest. 

Prosecutor Valdes said the victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials have stated that more information will be released as it becomes available.
