Police in Newark are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect in connection with a package theft that occurred on Wednesday, July 31.
A victim reported that at approximately 3:30 p.m., a delivered package containing clothing was stolen from the front steps of a residence in the 100 block of Sunset Avenue.
The value of the stolen items amounted to over $200.
The suspect is described as a Black male with a light complexion, wearing a gray T-shirt, black pants with two stripes on the sides, a white scarf around his neck, a navy-blue baseball cap, and dark-colored pool slides.
Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
