Authorities in Hudson County announced that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual.
Officials stated an individual is wanted for questioning in connection with a sexual assault in West New York on Saturday, July 27.
The 40-year-old female victim reported she encountered an unknown male sometime around 1:30 a.m. in the area of Hudson Avenue and 51st Street, officials said.
Officials say the female reported the male later grabbed her by her hair and then sexually assaulted her.
During the investigation, authorities say, images were obtained identifying a person of interest.
According to officials, at the time of the assault, the male is described as having worn a light color shirt with the word “Originals” on the front/ back, dark jeans, and black and white sneakers.
This matter is actively being investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the West New York Police Department, officials stated.
