Newark police officials are intensifying their efforts to locate Aaliyah Bryant, 17, who has been missing for nearly a year.
Aaliyah was last seen on August 29, 2023, in the 100 block of Chancellor Avenue, wearing a long white T-shirt, black leggings, and carrying a cross-body bag.
In a statement, Director Fritz G. Fragé noted that Aaliyah, who has a history of running away, was reported missing on August 30, 2023.
Despite numerous efforts, there has been no trace of her since.
Aaliyah is described as 5’3” tall, weighing 300 pounds, with a light-brown complexion and blonde hair.
She has a silver nose piercing and has been diagnosed with Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Director Fragé emphasized the importance of community assistance in the search for Aaliyah.
He urges anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
Tips can be submitted anonymously and may be eligible for a reward.
As the search for Aaliyah continues, the Newark Police Department remains hopeful that public awareness and cooperation will lead to her safe return.
