Police in Bloomfield have taken a serial shoplifter with multiple charges of taking merchandise from stores into custody.
Bloomfield Police officials identified the suspect as Mr. Jermaine Aikens, 43, of Bridgeton.
Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at 600 Bloomfield Avenue, the location of a Dollar General store.
According to a store employee, Aikens concealed soap and body wash valued at nearly $150 and attempted to leave the store without paying.
Officers arrived promptly and placed Aikens under arrest.
He was then transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.
