A deadly collision on Interstate 280 resulted in the death of one individual early Saturday morning in Harrison, Hudson County.
New Jersey State Police are investigating the incident, which occurred around 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near exit 16E.
Emergency responders who arrived at the scene pronounced one person dead.
To conduct a thorough investigation, all eastbound lanes of I-280 were temporarily closed, causing some delays when drivers used the shoulder to get by. 
The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing as state troopers work to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
