Newark police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in a violent assault at a bus stop in downtown Newark on July 11. Director Fragé stated that at approximately 4 a.m., the suspect, captured on surveillance video, sucker-punched a woman in the face while she was waiting at a bus stop at Broad and Market Streets.
The suspect is described as having a thin build and dark complexion.
Police said he was wearing a blue and white picnic-style shirt, a brown v-neck shirt, and white and blue shorts at the time of the incident.Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
