Police in Jersey City are actively searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the city.
The incident took place around 2:40 a.m. near 121 Bidwell Avenue.
Responding to reports of gunfire, several police units quickly arrived at the scene, where they discovered a male victim with bullet wounds to his arm and chest.
The injured man was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center for medical treatment.
As officers secured the area, they searched for evidence to identify the assailant.
Witnesses described the suspect as a Black male, last seen wearing a white shirt, who fled the scene shortly after the incident.
Authorities are also investigating a possible connection between this shooting and another shots-fired incident that occurred blocks away at 96 Bayview.
At that location, police found evidence of gunfire and secured the crime scene. No arrests have been made in connection with either shooting.
The investigation remains active and ongoing as Jersey City Police work to determine the circumstances surrounding these violent events and locate the suspect.
