A suspect has been taken into custody following a shooting in Trenton that critically injured a man on Monday afternoon.
Trenton Police responded to reports of gunfire on the 30s block of Benton Street shortly before 3:50 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
The victim was quickly transported to St. Francis Capital Health for urgent medical treatment and is currently listed in serious condition.
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, with ongoing efforts to determine the motive.
The identity of the suspect has not been released as the investigation continues.
Trenton Police are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward to assist with the case.
