Newark Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating Mr. Mark Howard, 28, and Ms. Nicole Perez, 22, both of Newark, in connection with a shooting that occurred on July 7, 2024.
Officers responded to a shooting at 10:43 a.m. and found a male victim with a gunshot wound to his leg at Fourth Avenue and N. 13th Street.
The victim, who was treated at University Hospital, had been shot in the 200 block of N. 13th Street and collapsed on the street.
Following the shooting, Howard and Perez, who live on the same block, left the scene and walked past the victim as he lay on the ground.
Howard is described as a Black male, 5’10” tall, weighing 180 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and a dark complexion.
Perez is described as a Hispanic female, 5’1” tall, weighing 110 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, and a light complexion.
Newark Public Safety Director Fragé urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of Howard and Perez to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
