As Newark and North Jersey region residents wake up this first Monday of July, they are greeted by fantastic weather featuring a cool, refreshing breeze—a delightful start to the holiday week.
My friends and family up at 4:30 a.m. enjoyed quiet skies, although some light sprinkles were noted in Sussex County and parts of Upper Passaic County, but not enough to warrant carrying an umbrella.
The National Weather Service forecasts a mostly sunny day with temperatures reaching a high near 81 degrees, accompanied by a north wind blowing at 11 to 14 mph.
NWS forecasters said the evening promises to continue with pleasant conditions with mostly clear skies and a low of around 63 degrees.
This excellent weather sets the stage for a great week leading up to the Fourth of July, providing a perfect start for those planning to enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend.
