Police in Newark are continuing to request the public’s assistance in locating 25-year-old Mr. Mohammed Arif Jafari of Syracuse, N.Y., who was reported missing on August 16, 2023.
Jafari, who has an intellectual disability, was last seen at approximately 9:30 a.m. leaving the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at 858 Broad Street.
According to Director Fragé, Jafari was wearing a green T-shirt and khaki pants but no shoes when he disappeared.
Known for his frequent praying, Jafari is described as 5'5" tall, weighing 145 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, and a light complexion.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding Mohammed Arif Jafari’s whereabouts to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and may result in a reward.
