Newark Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Early-Morning Blaze in South Ward Apartment Building

Firefighters in Newark responded to a fast-moving fire in a multi-family building in the South Ward early Saturday morning.AdThe blaze, which engulfed an apartment, was reported around 12:30 a.m. at 15 Goldsmith Avenue.

Upon arrival, fire crews immediately deployed multiple lines to combat the flames shooting from the third-floor window of the six-story building.

Firefighters entered, assisting several residents to safety as the fire raged from the apartment windows.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported at the conclusion of the operation.

The fire was successfully brought under control shortly before 1 a.m.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze and working to determine its origins.
