UPDATE: One Killed After Devastating Crash Causes Car to Burst into Flames in Roselle

A violent accident late Friday night at the intersection of East 1st Street and Monroe in Roselle resulted in the death of one person and severe injuries to two others.

The Union County Prosecutor's Office has been informed of the incident, which occurred around 11:40 p.m.Ad

According to preliminary information, emergency responders were called to the scene following several 911 calls about a crash with occupants trapped inside a vehicle.

Crash Upon arrival, firefighters encountered two vehicles involved in a devastating collision, with one of the vehicles engulfed in flames.

Firefighting crews quickly deployed lines from their truck and extinguished the fire.

Despite efforts to revive one of the occupants through CPR, one unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene. Good Samaritans quickly pulled the young man from the vehicle just before it burst into flames.

AdThe State Regional Medical Examiner's office was notified following the confirmation of the fatality.

The two other victims were rushed to University Hospital in Newark, suffering from severe injuries.

Roselle Police have closed the intersection to conduct a thorough investigation and facilitate cleanup operations.

The cause of the crash remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances that led to this deadly incident.
