A 21-month-old boy and his 5-year-old brother remain at the hospital after they were both found in a Bayonne pool last night.
Police responded to a Packard Street home for a report of an unconscious 21-month-old shortly before 6:30 p.m.
According to a neighbor who claims to have witnessed the ordeal, the 5-year-old boy was seen conscious holding on to the side of the pool while calling for his father.
Shortly after, the boys' father and another unidentified man ran to the pool to pull the 5-year-old boy out.
The neighbor then saw the father dive into the pool and remove the unconscious toddler out and began chest compressions on the boy.
Once the responding officer arrived, he was seen assisting the father of the boy.
The 21-month-old toddler remains at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
However, the 5-year-old who was reportedly conscious, is currently listed in critical condition.
The incident remains under investigation.
