Jersey City Man Arrested for Explicit Contact, Kidnapping Woman

In the early hours of Sunday, June 2, 2024, a 22-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted in a vehicle in Jersey City.

According to a statement from Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez the victim stated that she was approached by an unknown man in the Journal Square neighborhood.  

She entered the white vehicle he was operating, and he drove her a short distance to the area of Division Street and Eighth Street at approximately 7 a.m., where the assault occurred.

On Monday, June 17, 2024, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested 30-year-old Marc Toledo of Jersey City in connection with the assault.  

Toledo faces multiple charges including Aggravated Sexual Assault, Kidnapping, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Criminal Restraint.  

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, pending his first court appearance.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit for their investigation and arrest, with assistance from the United States Marshals Service and the Jersey City Police Department.
