Police in Newark's South Ward are investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday evening, leaving one man injured.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred around 7:37 p.m. at 31 Van Vechten Street.
Upon receiving reports of a person shot, officers arrived at the scene to find an adult male with a bullet wound to his arm.
The victim was promptly taken to University Hospital for treatment and is currently reported to be in stable condition.
At this time, the circumstances behind the shooting remain unclear, and no arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the motive behind the incident.
