Two Women Wanted for Questioning in Newark Shooting

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is requesting the public’s help in locating Ms. Maniyah Cannady, 22, and Ms.Teania Cannady, 51, both of Newark, who are wanted for questioning regarding a shooting that occurred on Thursday, May 30. AdDirector Frage said at approximately 8:50 p.m., police responded to a call of a shooting on Millington Avenue near Ingraham Place.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman who had been shot following an altercation with another woman accompanied by a group of women.

Prior to the shooting, two males arrived at the scene in a dark-colored, older-model Jeep. One of the males began yelling from the vehicle before exiting.

The suspect, who exited the passenger side with a handgun, started firing and struck the victim.

She was transported to University Hospital, where she is in stable condition.

Detectives investigating this incident are seeking Maniyah Cannady and Teania Cannady for questioning.AdManiyah is described as 5 feet tall and weighing 125 pounds, while Teania is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. Both women have medium-brown complexions.
