Police in Millburn are searching for several violent suspects who brazenly robbed a store in Short Hills Mall on Monday afternoon.
Millburn Captain Mark Azzopardi reported that just before 2:15 p.m., Millburn Police responded to a theft in progress at the Chanel store in the Short Hills Mall.
According to Captain Azzopardi, five individuals entered the store wearing surgical masks and gloves.
During the robbery, one suspect violently discharged a fire extinguisher at the store security officer while the other four suspects ransacked the store, stealing merchandise.
Video footage observed by RLS Media showed several frantic store personnel guarding merchandise and protecting customers by locking their doors.
All suspects fled the scene in an awaiting vehicle. Fortunately, the security officer did not sustain severe injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
