Two individuals were hospitalized following a shooting incident in a Jersey City community that occurred overnight.
Police were called to the scene around 11:50 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired near the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Bergen Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle speeding away from the scene, which led to a brief pursuit.
The chase ended when the suspect's vehicle collided with another car, causing the suspect to attempt an escape on foot.
Police managed to apprehend two suspects near the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Bergen Avenue while EMS attended to the victims involved in both the crash and the shooting.
Meanwhile, Jersey City Medical Center informed the investigating officers that two gunshot victims were receiving treatment at their facility. The condition of these victims has not yet been confirmed.
Authorities are actively investigating the motive behind the shooting, with the investigation ongoing.
