Happy Friday! My friends and family in Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a comfortable early morning with temperatures in the lower 70's.
Although parts of South Jersey experienced some light sprinkles, our area is mostly dry, setting the stage for an enjoyable start to the holiday weekend.
The National Weather Service reports that humidity levels are dropping, which should make for a delightful day.
Expect plenty of sunshine, with today's high reaching near 89 degrees, accompanied by a gentle west wind blowing at 3 to 7 mph.
Tonight, NWS forecasters said the skies will remain mostly clear with a low of around 63 degrees.
This favorable weather provides a perfect kickoff to the Memorial Day holiday—the unofficial start of summer.
