Good morning, New Jersey! Brace yourselves for some powerful thunderstorms heading our way in Newark and the North Jersey region today.
Temperatures are warm if you are out the door at 4:30 this morning, and while things are currently calm, a front coming from the west will bring storms.
Intense and severe storms are expected to hit the area by mid-morning, so be cautious.
According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will bring showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., followed by a slight chance of showers.
The day will be cloudy with a high near 84 degrees and a southwest wind around seven mph. The chance of precipitation is 50%.
NWS forecasters said Thursday night will be mostly cloudy with a low of around 64 degrees.
