The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and Paterson Police Department are investigating a shooting that injured a teenage boy on Wednesday evening.Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes reported that at approximately 5:15 p.m., Paterson Police were dispatched to the area of Putnam Street and Mercer Street following a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found a 13-year-old boy who had sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.
Prosecutor Valdes said the victim was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, with more information to be released as it becomes available.
