BREAKING: Fatal Fiery Crash on I-80 in Bergen County Causes Major Traffic Disruptions

The New Jersey State Police are investigating a horrific crash on I-80 in Bergen County late Tuesday night that claimed the life of at least one person and gravely injured another, according to preliminary information at the scene.Ad It occurred just before midnight near Exit 66 in Hackensack.

The violent collision between a box truck and a tractor-trailer caused fiery conditions.

Fatal crash Hackensack firefighters arrived at the scene and deployed three lines to control the blaze.

Despite their efforts, the crash resulted in deadly injuries.

A preliminary investigation suggests that the tractor-trailer was heading eastbound when it went through the concrete barrier and collided with the box truck, igniting that vehicle in flames. 

At least one other vehicle, a white SUV, was involved in the collision, but it has not been confirmed if anyone in that vehicle was injured.

Traffic cameras from the NJ Department of Transportation showed that the crash caused parking lot-like traffic conditions in the westbound lanes of I-80 as crews continued to clean up the highway.
