Trenton Police are investigating the motive behind a shooting incident that caused property damage early Saturday morning.
Gunfire erupted in the area of 148 Division Street shortly before 2:20 a.m., prompting officers to respond to the scene.
Upon arrival, police found shell casings and a car that had been struck by bullets.
Police say there was no one inside the vehicle, and a search of the neighborhood revealed no gunshot victims. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
Authorities credit a ShotSpotter device for activating and alerting them to the gunfire.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the motive behind the shooting.
