Despite being mid-May, Newark and the broader North Jersey region continue to experience the remnants of April's showers.
Early morning temperatures hover in the mild 50s and 60s, but residents should expect a day filled with clouds and intermittent rain. While it won't be a complete washout, the conditions will undoubtedly keep the day dreary.
The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts a 30 percent chance of showers later in the day, primarily after 5 p.m. The day will remain cloudy, and the high will be nearing 66 degrees.
NWS meteorologists said a brisk north wind will be present, reaching speeds of around 15 mph and gusts that could ascend to as high as 26 mph, adding a chill to the damp atmosphere.
Thursday evening will also see a continuing chance of showers until 8 p.m., after which the skies will stay mostly cloudy. The nighttime low is expected to drop to around 58 degrees.
Residents should keep their umbrellas close at hand and dress appropriately for the chilly, wet weather. Have a great day and stay dry!
