Director Fragé announced that Newark Police are investigating a crash that left a bicyclist injured in Newark’s South Ward on Tuesday.According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 4:02 p.m. on May 14, 2024, police responded to a call about a collision between an adult male bicycle rider and a vehicle at the intersection of Bergen Street and Clinton Avenue.
When emergency responders arrived, they found the bicyclist pinned under the truck.
Director Frage said the bicyclist was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene.
This incident remains under investigation.
