Authorities are on the search for several suspects involved in a violent exchange of gunfire that erupted in broad daylight Monday morning.
The incident, which occurred before 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of 7th Avenue West and 2nd Street, was initially detected by a ShotSpotter activation, prompting an immediate police response.
Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple shell casings at the scene.
It was soon believed that the occupants of the two vehicles had engaged in gunfire with each other.
Although police located the vehicles involved, several armed suspects fled from the cars, evading capture.
As part of their investigation, local police have been checking hospitals in the region for potential gunshot victims. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
Despite their efforts, the suspects remain at large.
Police are continuing their search and are appealing to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of the individuals involved in this dangerous incident.
