Four residents of Bergen County have been apprehended for their roles in a significant drug trafficking ring that primarily operated in Newark.
U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger made the announcement today, detailing the charges against the individuals involved.
Ernesto Adon Martinez, 38, Luis Arismedy Gomez Torres, 28, and Deury Luis Gomez Torres, 25, all from Fort Lee, face charges of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, and heroin.
Jenny Desiree Rosario-Lorenzo, 28, also from Fort Lee, is charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine, as well as aiding and abetting.
The accused were linked to a drug trafficking organization affiliated with the Trinitarios street gang, distributing substantial quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine in the Fort Lee and New York areas.
The operation reportedly moved over 400 grams of fentanyl and more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.
Three of the defendants were detained following their court appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy L. Waldor in Newark on May 8, 2024.
Federal officials said Deury Gomez Torres is still at large.
The charges laid against the individuals include severe penalties, with the conspiracy count involving fentanyl and methamphetamine carrying a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a potential life sentence, alongside a $10 million fine.
The charges related to heroin carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
