Newark Police officials are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred in the Upper Roseville section of the city on Tuesday evening.
According to reports, the incident took place around 6:30 p.m. near 347 North 11th Street.
Responding officers were informed by the victim that an armed suspect had confronted them, brandishing a gun and demanding the keys to their white Acura.
The suspect then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, which bears New Jersey license plate number "Y78-RZV".
Fortunately, there were no physical injuries reported during the carjacking, but the suspect remains at large.
Newark Police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward to assist in the investigation.
