Police in Newark are searching for four suspects involved in an apparent robbery attempt that escalated into gunfire on Friday afternoon.
The incident took place around 3:20 p.m. in Newark's Ironbound section, in the 20s block of Foundry Street.
Authorities have issued a regional ‘be on the lookout’ alert for an older model white Ford Crown Victoria.
The vehicle, bearing a reported temporary Georgia license plate (S1865440), is reported to have noticeable chipped paint.
It was last seen occupied by the suspects, all of whom are considered armed and dangerous.
Despite the situation with shots fired, police have confirmed that there were no injuries reported at the scene.
Officers canvassed the area and checked surveillance footage as part of the ongoing investigation.
The police urge anyone with information about the vehicle or the suspects to contact the Newark Police Department immediately.
