A male pedestrian was struck and killed while attempting to cross Route 1 in Woodbridge today.
Police responded to Route 1 northbound for a reported pedestrian strike shortly before 2 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found the unidentified 66-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive.
Initial investigation revealed that the man tried to cross after leaving the ShopRite, where there is no crosswalk.
The incident remains under investigation.
