The Honorable Irvington Township Mayor Tony Vauss announced the passing of his mother, Ms. Dorothy Jean Vauss, who died overnight from an unspecified illness at an Essex County Hospital.
In a brief statement released to RLS Media’s information center at 2:45 a.m., Mayor Vauss expressed his deep sorrow, saying,
"It is with great sorrow that I announce that my beloved mother has transitioned."
Ms. Vauss was a prominent figure in Irvington. She often attended the State of The Township addresses and local events and was known for her vocal support of the community.
The township asks for prayers for Mayor Vauss as he mourns, remembering Ms. Vauss's impact on Irvington.
