Authorities in Hoboken are currently investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred late last night on Marshall Drive.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit, together with the Hoboken Police Department, confirmed the ongoing investigation following events that took place just before 11:40 PM near 320 Marshall Drive.
Police were initially alerted to the situation after reports of gunshots in the area.
Upon arrival, officers found evidence confirming that a shooting had indeed taken place.
However, an initial search of the location revealed no victims on the scene.
The investigation took a turn when officials at the Jersey City Medical Center informed the police that a gunshot victim had been admitted to the emergency room.
The victim, who remains unidentified, was brought in by a private vehicle and was later pronounced dead by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, as stated in their brief announcement.
As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and authorities have not released any information regarding a suspect.
Detectives continue to canvas the area as part of the ongoing investigation.
