Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to another cool start today, but warmer weather is just around the corner.Currently, cloudy skies dominate, and a frost advisory is in effect for Sussex County and the upper suburbs, signaling chilly early conditions.
The National Weather Service said today's weather includes increasing clouds with a high near 62 degrees. A light south wind will pick up, increasing to 8 to 13 mph in the morning.
Forecasters said while there may be some spotty showers across the area, these are not expected to cause much disruption.
Tonight, the chance of showers rises to 40 percent, mainly after 9 p.m., so keeping a jacket handy would be wise.
However, this cooler, unsettled weather will make way for a delightful Sunday, with temperatures climbing to the mid-70s. The warming trend continues into Monday, providing a taste of summer with highs expected in the mid-80s.This brief return to colder weather will soon be replaced by much anticipated warmer days, perfect for outdoor activities as the week progresses.
