Newark and Northern Jersey residents felt the chill this morning, with temperatures starting off at a brisk 45 degrees.
As you step outside, you won't need an umbrella today, but grab a coat, as the National Weather Service is currently issuing a freeze warning for parts of the region.
Despite the cold start, the day will gradually warm up, reaching a high near 56 degrees under sunny skies.
Winds will shift from north at 6 to 10 mph to southeast in the afternoon, which might bring a slight increase in temperature.
However, the warmth will be short-lived. Tonight promises clear skies and a low of around 40 degrees.
The National Weather Service advises residents to keep warm and take precautions against the cold, especially in the early hours and late evening.
Today's weather calls for a coat throughout, ensuring comfort against the unseasonably chilly air gripping Northern Jersey.
