Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Monday, April 22, Stephen Sirch, 30, from Voorhees, was charged with vehicular homicide based on his involvement in a motor vehicle crash that occurred earlier this month.Officials stated that on April 3, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Sirch was involved in a motor vehicle crash on the Black Horse Pike in Hamilton Township.
Sirch’s vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Karina E. Castillo, 29, from Clementon, officials say.
According to officials, Castillo was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the injuries she sustained.
A subsequent investigation revealed Sirch was traveling at an excessive speed at the time of the crash, authorities say.
Officials said Sirch was charged with second-degree Vehicular Homicide and was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
